San Pedro de Atacama tours: the 12 most booked, with prices and what each includes (2026)

San Pedro de Atacama tours: the 12 most booked, with prices and what each includes (2026)

The 12 most booked tours in San Pedro de Atacama, sorted by price: from CLP $31,000 (Rainbow Valley) to CLP $270,000 (Uyuni Salt Flat, 4 days). What each one includes, which park fees are extra and how booking with us works.

Prices in this guide are the ones shown on each Tours Atacama product page on September 29, 2026, per person and in Chilean pesos (CLP). They can change with the season: if the product page says something different when you book, the product page wins. Payment is made online on this site and is charged in Chilean pesos; your booking code arrives by WhatsApp.

Day tours in San Pedro de Atacama cost between <strong>CLP $31,000 and CLP $70,000 per person</strong>, and the four-day jeep circuit to the Uyuni Salt Flat costs <strong>CLP $270,000</strong>. What people book most with us: Moon Valley at sunset (CLP $38,000), the Tatio Geysers (from CLP $35,000) and the Uyuni jeep. And the detail almost nobody writes down before you pay: <strong>none of the twelve includes the park entrance fee</strong>. Tatio is CLP $15,000, Moon Valley CLP $10,800 and Baltinache CLP $12,000, and several must be bought online the day before. Keep that extra budget in mind and the prices below compare fairly.

Short rule: the tour first, the ticket second. Add between CLP $10,800 and CLP $29,000 per park to every price on the list, and bring cash for what cards can't pay.

  • Rainbow Valley and Yerbas Buenas — CLP $31,000 — half day, breakfast, petroglyphs
  • Cejar Lagoons and Ojos del Salar — CLP $33,000 — afternoon, floating in Laguna Piedra, cocktail
  • Vallecito and the Magic Bus — CLP $34,990 — afternoon, sunset, no entrance fee
  • Tatio Geysers, departure B — CLP $35,000 — pre-dawn, breakfast, Machuca village
  • Moon Valley — CLP $38,000 — afternoon, Kari lookout, sunset cocktail
  • Tatio Geysers, departure A — CLP $45,000 — pre-dawn, breakfast after the geysers, Putana River
  • Group stargazing tour — CLP $48,000 — night, 10 telescopes, 3 photos
  • Hidden Lagoons of Baltinache — CLP $49,990 — half day, hypersaline lagoons (no swimming since 29 Sep 2026)
  • Piedras Rojas and Altiplanic Lagoons, departure B — CLP $50,000 — full day, breakfast and lunch
  • Piedras Rojas and Altiplanic Lagoons, departure A — CLP $58,000 — full day, Toconao and Socaire, restaurant lunch
  • VIP stargazing tour — CLP $70,000 — night, max 4 people, 4 to 5 edited photos
  • Uyuni Salt Flat 4D/3N — CLP $270,000 — 4x4 jeep, all meals and 3 nights in Bolivia

1. Rainbow Valley and Yerbas Buenas — CLP $31,000

The cheapest day tour in our catalogue and the best way to fill a free morning. Hotel pickup at 07:00, back around 13:00, breakfast included. You head into the Domeyko range, where each hill shows a different colour depending on the mineral in its layer, and then to the Yerbas Buenas petroglyphs, rock art carved in the open desert. It pairs well with Vallecito or Moon Valley the same afternoon. The park fee is not in the price.

2. Cejar Lagoons and Ojos del Salar — CLP $33,000

An afternoon on the edge of the Atacama Salt Flat. Pickup at 15:00, then Laguna Cejar, Laguna Piedra (this is where you get in and float with no effort thanks to the salt), the Ojos del Salar and Laguna Tebenquiche, where the cocktail and snacks are served while the sun goes down. Back at your hotel around 20:00. Two things worth knowing: <strong>the lagoon is closed on Tuesdays</strong>, so there is no departure that day, and you bring your own towel. The entrance fee to the area is paid separately.

3. Vallecito and the Magic Bus — CLP $34,990

The only tour on the list with <strong>no entrance fee</strong>, so the price you see is the price you pay. Pickup at 15:30 from hotels inside the town limits, a stop at the Magic Bus (the abandoned vehicle in the middle of the desert), the Salt Range, the Llano de la Paciencia and the lookouts for sunset, with a snack. It ends at 20:30 at Plazoleta La Apacheta, not at your hotel. If you want a sunset that isn't Moon Valley and no ticket to buy, this is it. Don't stack it with the stargazing tour on the same day: the schedules collide.

Experiencia: vallecito-y-bus-magico — Desde $30.000

4 and 6. Tatio Geysers — CLP $35,000 (departure B) and CLP $45,000 (departure A)

We run two Tatio departures with different crews, which is why there are two prices. Both leave before dawn, between 04:30 and 05:10, to reach the geothermal field at 4,320 m at sunrise, when there is the most steam. Both include breakfast up there, a Spanish- and English-speaking guide, the stop at the Putana River or Putana wetland, and the village of Machuca. Neither includes the entrance fee: <strong>CLP $15,000 per person</strong>, and the toilets in Machuca cost CLP $500 in cash.

Departure B (CLP $35,000) does a 40-minute walk among the geysers before breakfast, adds Portuguese to the guiding and drops you at 12:00 at Plazoleta La Apacheta. Machuca is closed on Tuesdays, so that stop is skipped that day. Departure A (CLP $45,000) takes you straight back to your hotel between 11:30 and 12:00 and serves breakfast only after you've walked the geysers, around 08:00. If you don't mind walking the last few blocks from the plaza, B is better value; if you're travelling with kids or want door to door, A.

5. Moon Valley — CLP $38,000

The most booked tour at Tours Atacama and the one almost everyone starts with, because it needs no acclimatisation. Hotel pickup around 14:00 (in summer between 15:00 and 15:30, since it follows sunset time), the full loop through the valley inside Los Flamencos National Reserve, and the climb to the Kari lookout, where the cocktail is served as the sun sets over the Salt Range. Sprinter van for up to 14 passengers and drop-off at your hotel. The park ticket is <strong>CLP $10,800</strong> and is bought online in advance: no ticket, no entry, and the day before is when to do it.

Experiencia: tour-valle-de-la-luna-1 — Desde $35.000

7 and 11. Stargazing tour — CLP $48,000 group and CLP $70,000 VIP

Two versions of the same night, on the same base: pickup and return to your hotel, a talk in a heated dome with a cocktail (red wine, hot drinks, cheese and alcohol-free options), observation through 10 telescopes and a 35-to-40-minute astrophotography session. Neither has an entrance fee to pay. It's the one tour on the list where the price is already the total.

The difference is how many people and how many photos. The group version (CLP $48,000) takes up to 15 people, pickup at 20:20, back at 23:10, and you leave with 3 professional photos (Portrait, Light or Shadow styles). The VIP (CLP $70,000) is for a maximum of 4 people, runs earlier (18:30 to 20:45) and the photo session is for your group only, with 4 to 5 edited photos per style. If there are two of you and you want couple shots without a queue, the VIP pays for itself; if there are six friends, go group.

8. Hidden Lagoons of Baltinache — CLP $49,990

Seven hypersaline lagoons south-east of town. From where the van parks you walk about 30 minutes. Since 29 September 2026 swimming and floating are no longer allowed (the park closed the lagoons for maintenance and regeneration), so it's a viewing visit; there are toilets and a café. Morning shift with pickup at 07:30 and return at 11:00 at Plazoleta La Apacheta, or an afternoon shift leaving between 13:00 and 14:00. Not in the price: the <strong>CLP $12,000 entrance fee</strong>, bought online beforehand. And a park rule that surprises everyone: sunscreen can't be applied inside, so you put it on in town. Not suitable for children under 5, pregnant women or people over 80.

9 and 10. Piedras Rojas and Altiplanic Lagoons — CLP $50,000 (departure B) and CLP $58,000 (departure A)

The long high-altitude day: Laguna Chaxa in the Atacama Salt Flat, the Tropic of Capricorn, the Miscanti and Meñiques lagoons and Piedras Rojas park above 4,000 m. Both departures include breakfast and lunch, pickup from central hotels and a Spanish- and English-speaking guide. Entrance fees are extra and are the highest in the destination: <strong>CLP $22,000 for Chileans and CLP $29,000 for foreigners</strong> for the day's parks and reserves. Piedras Rojas is windy: bring a real jacket even if town is at 25 °C.

Departure B (CLP $50,000) leaves at 07:00, does the 40-minute walk in and 40 back at Piedras Rojas, adds Portuguese and ends at 16:30 at Plazoleta La Apacheta. Departure A (CLP $58,000) leaves at 06:00, adds the villages of Toconao and Socaire, serves lunch in a restaurant and drops you at your hotel around 17:00. If it's about the landscape and the budget, B; if you want villages, a sit-down lunch and door to door, A.

Experiencia: tour-piedras-rojas-y-lagunas-altiplanicas — Desde $59.000

12. Uyuni Salt Flat 4D/3N from San Pedro — CLP $270,000

The only multi-day tour on the list and the one we get asked about most on WhatsApp. Pickup at your San Pedro hotel, into Bolivia in a 4x4 with a maximum of 6 passengers per jeep, and back to San Pedro on day four. It includes all meals with water (vegetarian option available), three nights in shared rooms with shared bathrooms (two in Villa Alota and one at the Hostal de Sal Infinita, the latter subject to salt-flat conditions), emergency oxygen and a driver-guide in Spanish and English. What it doesn't include matters: <strong>Bolivian park fees, about 300 bolivianos in cash</strong>, the night before in San Pedro, the passport with 6 months' validity you must bring, and travel insurance. If you're torn between this and the 5- or 6-day versions with San Pedro tours built in, we compare them day by day in <a href="https://toursatacama.cl/guias/salar-de-uyuni-desde-san-pedro-4-5-o-6-dias">Uyuni Salt Flat from San Pedro: 4, 5 or 6 days</a> (in Spanish).

What you pay separately on each tour

This is the budget to add on top of the list price. The figures come from each tour's product page on September 29, 2026; the parks change them without notice, so confirm on the product page the day you book. Almost all are paid in cash or online, not on the van.

  • Tatio Geysers: CLP $15,000 per person. Toilets in Machuca: CLP $500, cash.
  • Moon Valley: CLP $10,800 per person, bought online in advance.
  • Baltinache lagoons: CLP $12,000 per person, bought online beforehand.
  • Piedras Rojas and altiplanic lagoons: CLP $22,000 Chileans / CLP $29,000 foreigners for the day.
  • Cejar Lagoons and Rainbow Valley: entrance to the area paid separately; the amount is confirmed on the product page when you book.
  • Uyuni: Bolivian park fees, about 300 bolivianos in cash, plus public toilets.
  • Vallecito, group and VIP stargazing: no entrance fee. The published price is the total.
  • All of them: tips, meals not listed under 'included', and whatever you buy in Machuca or Colchani.

How booking with us works

Pick the tour, the date and the number of people on the product page, and pay online on this site. The checkout charges in Chilean pesos; your card's issuer converts at its own rate. As soon as it's confirmed, your booking code arrives by WhatsApp with the pickup point and time. That code is what you show the guide. If your accommodation is outside San Pedro's central radius, we message you beforehand to set a meeting point, because not every street in town takes a van. Need to change dates? Reply in the same chat: we check it with that day's operation and confirm.

  • Book Tatio for your second or third day, never the first: it's 4,320 m and you should acclimatise.
  • Buy Moon Valley and Baltinache tickets online the day before; no ticket, no entry.
  • Carry small cash for Machuca and bolivianos for Uyuni; there are no card terminals up there.
  • Don't combine Vallecito or Cejar with the stargazing tour on the same day: the times overlap.
  • No Cejar on Tuesdays and Machuca is closed: move those tours to another day.

Which one, depending on your days

With one afternoon: Moon Valley. With one full day: Tatio in the morning and Moon Valley or Vallecito in the afternoon. With two days: add Piedras Rojas. With three or more, add Cejar if you want to float (since 29 September 2026 Baltinache is view-only, no swimming), and the stargazing tour on whichever night has the clearest sky. If you'd rather not assemble it tour by tour, we have six fixed plans of 1 to 5 days with the same tours at a single price: they're compared in <a href="https://toursatacama.cl/guias/how-many-days-in-san-pedro-de-atacama">How many days in San Pedro de Atacama? The 6 plans</a>. And if you haven't sorted the flight, the transfer from Calama (CLP $34,000 round trip) and where to sleep, that's in <a href="https://toursatacama.cl/guias/como-llegar-a-san-pedro-de-atacama-y-donde-dormir">How to get to San Pedro de Atacama and where to stay</a> (in Spanish).

What you need to know fits in one line: twelve tours between CLP $31,000 and CLP $270,000, none with the entrance fee included, all with pickup in town. Book online, keep the code that arrives by WhatsApp and, if something doesn't fit your dates, message us in that same chat before paying for the second tour.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a tour in San Pedro de Atacama cost in 2026?

The day tours you book with us run from CLP $31,000 (Rainbow Valley) to CLP $70,000 (VIP stargazing) per person. The most popular sit in the middle: Moon Valley CLP $38,000, Tatio Geysers from CLP $35,000 and Piedras Rojas from CLP $50,000. The 4-day Uyuni Salt Flat circuit costs CLP $270,000. Every tour except Vallecito and the stargazing tours needs the park fee added on top.

Are park entrance fees included in the tour price?

No, in none of the twelve. Tatio is CLP $15,000, Moon Valley CLP $10,800, Baltinache CLP $12,000 and the Piedras Rojas day CLP $22,000 for Chileans or CLP $29,000 for foreigners. Moon Valley and Baltinache are bought online the day before; Tatio is paid in cash. The only tours with no entrance fee are Vallecito and the stargazing tours.

Why are there two prices for Tatio and two for Piedras Rojas?

Because they are two departures with different crews. For Tatio, the CLP $35,000 one ends at Plazoleta La Apacheta and the CLP $45,000 one drops you at your hotel. For Piedras Rojas, the CLP $50,000 one leaves at 07:00 and ends at the plaza; the CLP $58,000 one leaves at 06:00, adds Toconao and Socaire, has a restaurant lunch and goes door to door. The scenery and the park fees are the same.

How do I book and how do I get the confirmation?

Choose the date and number of people on the tour's page and pay online on this site; the checkout charges in Chilean pesos. Confirmation arrives by WhatsApp with your booking code, the pickup point and time. That code is what you show the guide. Date changes are requested in the same chat.

Which tour should I do on my first day in San Pedro?

Moon Valley, Vallecito or Cejar: all are afternoon tours and don't climb much. Tatio (4,320 m) and Piedras Rojas (above 4,000 m) are better on your second or third day, after a night at 2,400 m. The stargazing tour works any night, ideally away from the full moon.

Which tours don't run on Tuesdays?

Cejar Lagoons, because the area is closed, and on the Tatio tour the Machuca stop is skipped because the village closes that day. Everything else runs as normal. If your trip includes a Tuesday, move Cejar to Monday or Wednesday and use Tuesday for Moon Valley, Rainbow Valley or Baltinache.

What should I bring on the high-altitude tours?

Layers (Tatio can hit -20 °C), a hat, gloves, sunscreen, sunglasses and water. For Cejar, a swimsuit and your own towel (Baltinache no longer allows swimming). For Baltinache, apply sunscreen beforehand because it can't be put on inside the park. Small cash for toilets and Machuca. For Uyuni, a passport with 6 months' validity and bolivianos.

Can I do Uyuni from San Pedro without coming back to Chile?

Our 4-day circuit returns to San Pedro on the last day, as do the 5- and 6-day versions. If your plan is to continue through Bolivia, message us on WhatsApp before booking to see which option fits; the comparison of the three versions is in the Uyuni Salt Flat from San Pedro guide.
