Six fixed plans for San Pedro de Atacama, from 1 to 5 days and from CLP $60,000 to CLP $215,000 per person, with the exact tours each one includes. How to choose by the days you have, and what's paid separately: park fees and lodging.
Prices in this guide are the ones on the Tours Atacama product pages on September 29, 2026, per person and in Chilean pesos (CLP). If the product page says something different when you book, the product page wins. Payment is made online on this site and is charged in Chilean pesos; your booking code arrives by WhatsApp.
The short answer: <strong>three days</strong> is the minimum to see the high plateau, Moon Valley and the Tatio Geysers without rushing, and with five you do everything that can be done from town without crossing into Bolivia. So you don't have to book tour by tour, we sell six fixed plans running from <strong>CLP $60,000 for one day to CLP $215,000 for five</strong>: Flash 1 day (2 tours), Express 2 days (3 tours), Ideal 3 days (3 tours), Full 3 days (6 tours), Ideal 4 days (5 tours) and Ideal 5 days (6 tours). What none of them includes, and you should know before comparing: <strong>neither park entrance fees nor the hotel</strong>. Those are added separately and we break them down below.
Choose by pace, not just by days: Ideal 3 is three outings in three days; Full 3 is six outings in the same three days. They cost differently because they are different trips.
- Flash Plan 1 day — CLP $60,000 — Tatio at sunrise + Moon Valley at sunset
- Express Plan 2 days — CLP $88,000 — Tatio + Moon Valley + Puritama hot springs trek
- Ideal Plan 3 days — CLP $115,000 — Moon Valley + Piedras Rojas and lagoons + Tatio
- Ideal Plan 4 days — CLP $185,000 — Moon Valley + Piedras Rojas + Rainbow Valley + Cejar + Tatio
- Full 3 days — CLP $199,000 — Devil's Throat by bike + Vallecito + Piedras Rojas + stargazing + Tatio + Puritama
- Ideal Plan 5 days — CLP $215,000 — Moon Valley + Piedras Rojas and Salt Flat + Puritama + Cejar + Salt Flats Route + Tatio
How to read these plans before choosing
All six work the same way: one payment per person, one outing per day (or two on the Full 3), pickup from your accommodation within San Pedro's central radius, a guide, and the meals each tour carries (breakfast at Tatio, lunch at Piedras Rojas, a snack or cocktail on the sunset tours). We confirm the order of the tours when you book, based on that day's operation, and we always try to keep Tatio off your first morning. None includes lodging, so if you don't have a bed yet, read <a href="https://toursatacama.cl/guias/como-llegar-a-san-pedro-de-atacama-y-donde-dormir">how to get to San Pedro and where to stay</a> (in Spanish) before fixing dates.
Flash Plan, 1 day — CLP $60,000: Tatio and Moon Valley
For anyone with a single full day who wants the two classics. The morning leaves early for the Tatio Geysers (sunrise at 4,320 m, breakfast up there, back at midday) and the afternoon is Moon Valley with a snack at sunset. Transfers on each outing and a guide on both. Two honest warnings: it's a long day that starts at 04:30, and Tatio without acclimatising is felt. If you slept one night in town before, it works; if you land in Calama that same morning, it doesn't. Extra: the Tatio fee (CLP $15,000) and the Moon Valley ticket (CLP $10,800), the latter bought online the day before.
Experiencia: plan-flash-1-dia-valle-de-la-luna-geiseres-del- — Desde $60.000
Express Plan, 2 days — CLP $88,000: Tatio, Moon Valley and Puritama
Adds the Puritama hot springs trek to the Flash, which is the outing your body is most grateful for after the Tatio pre-dawn start. Three experiences in two days: geysers at sunrise, Moon Valley at sunset and the Puritama thermal pools in a canyon at 3,500 m, with transfers and a guide on each and breakfast, snack or cocktail depending on the tour. The exact order is confirmed when you book; the usual is Moon Valley on day one to acclimatise, then Tatio plus Puritama on day two. For CLP $28,000 more than the Flash you get a whole extra day of programme. Entrance fees to the three parks are paid separately; the Puritama amount is on the product page, check it before paying.
Experiencia: plan-express-2-dias-tatio-valle-de-la-luna-y-pu — Desde $88.000
Ideal Plan, 3 days — CLP $115,000: Moon Valley, Piedras Rojas and Tatio
The plan we recommend by default when someone messages us with three days and no idea where to start. It covers the three landscapes that define the destination: Moon Valley at sunset (day 1, low altitude), the full day at Piedras Rojas and the altiplanic lagoons with breakfast and lunch (day 2, above 4,000 m) and the Tatio Geysers at sunrise (day 3). One outing per day, mornings or afternoons free for town, and it works out at <strong>CLP $38,333 per day</strong>, the lowest daily price of the six. Fees extra: Moon Valley CLP $10,800, Piedras Rojas CLP $22,000 for Chileans or CLP $29,000 for foreigners, Tatio CLP $15,000.
Experiencia: plan-ideal-3-dias-luna-piedras-rojas-y-tatio — Desde $115.000
Full 3 days — CLP $199,000: six tours in three days
Same three days, twice the outings. This is the plan for people with little time who don't want to leave anything out, and it's the only one of the six with a fixed itinerary on its product page. Day 1: Devil's Throat by bicycle in the morning (bike and helmet included) and Vallecito with the Magic Bus and sunset in the afternoon. Day 2: 06:00 departure to Toconao, Socaire, the Miscanti and Meñiques lagoons, Piedras Rojas, Laguna Chaxa and the Tropic of Capricorn, with breakfast and a restaurant lunch, and the stargazing tour with telescopes that night. Day 3: Tatio between 04:30 and 05:10 with breakfast up top, Putana River, Machuca, and the Puritama pools in the afternoon.
We'll say it the way the product page does: it's intense. One 04:30 start, one full day above 4,000 m and two activities on the same day on two of the three days. Suitable from age 8 and not recommended for heart or respiratory conditions without a doctor's go-ahead. Extra: the Piedras Rojas fee CLP $29,000, Tatio CLP $15,000, Puritama as per the product page, the hotel, and lunches and dinners on days 1 and 3. Against the Ideal 3, you pay CLP $84,000 more for three additional tours (bike, Vallecito, stargazing) plus Puritama; bought separately, Vallecito and the group stargazing tour alone already add up to CLP $82,990.
Experiencia: full-3-dias-san-pedro-de-atacama-6-imperdibles — Desde $199.000
Ideal Plan, 4 days — CLP $185,000: five tours, with floating
Adds two short outings to the Ideal 3 that fit in half a day each: Rainbow Valley with the Yerbas Buenas petroglyphs (morning, breakfast included) and the Cejar Lagoons with a swim and float in Laguna Piedra (afternoon, cocktail included). Five tours in four days: sunset, high plateau, coloured hills, floating and geysers, with transfers, guide and meals according to each outing. It's the most varied plan in terms of scenery per day, and it leaves an afternoon or a morning free to walk the town. One calendar detail worth noting: <strong>Cejar doesn't open on Tuesdays</strong>, so if your window includes a Tuesday, another tour goes that day. Fees extra at all five parks; the Cejar and Rainbow Valley amounts are confirmed on the product page.
Experiencia: plan-ideal-4-dias-cinco-tours-en-san-pedro — Desde $185.000
Ideal Plan, 5 days — CLP $215,000: six tours, one per day
The full stay without crossing into Bolivia. Each day has a set outing: Moon Valley, Piedras Rojas with the Atacama Salt Flat, the Puritama hot springs, Laguna Cejar, the Salt Flats Route and the Tatio Geysers. Six tours in five days because two of them are half-day and fit in the same day; the operating order is confirmed when you book. Against the Ideal 4 you swap Rainbow Valley for Puritama and add the Salt Flats Route for CLP $30,000 more, and against the Full 3 you get the same number of tours at a pace of one outing a day instead of two. It works out at <strong>CLP $43,000 per day</strong>. No hotel and no fees, like all of them.

How many days you need, depending on what you want to see
The real question isn't how many days, but how many outings you can take and how much altitude you want to do. With that, the decision makes itself:
- One afternoon and one morning between two flights: Flash 1 day (CLP $60,000), only if you slept a night in town first.
- A long weekend of two nights: Express 2 days (CLP $88,000); Puritama makes up for the early start.
- Three days and you want to see it all without rushing: Ideal 3 (CLP $115,000), the best price per day.
- Three days and you want six outings: Full 3 (CLP $199,000), accepting two activities a day.
- Four days and you want to float and see coloured hills: Ideal 4 (CLP $185,000).
- Five days and no Bolivia: Ideal 5 (CLP $215,000), one tour per day.
- Five or six days and you want the Uyuni Salt Flat: none of these; look at the Altiplánico programmes.
Price per day: which gives you more
Dividing the list price by the days in the plan, the order is: Ideal 3 at CLP $38,333 per day, Ideal 5 at CLP $43,000, Express 2 at CLP $44,000, Ideal 4 at CLP $46,250, Flash 1 at CLP $60,000 and Full 3 at CLP $66,333. The Full 3 is the most expensive per day because it packs twice the tours into the same time; measured per outing it's CLP $33,167 per tour, the lowest on the list. In other words: <strong>if you have days, the Ideal 3 or Ideal 5 give you more; if you have tours in mind and few days, the Full 3</strong>. None of these figures includes park fees, which start at CLP $25,800 per person on the Flash and exceed CLP $44,000 on the Full 3 and Ideal 5 before adding Puritama, Cejar and the Salt Flats Route, whose amounts are on the product page.
What you pay separately on all six plans
- Park fees: Tatio CLP $15,000, Moon Valley CLP $10,800 (online, the day before), Piedras Rojas CLP $22,000 Chileans / CLP $29,000 foreigners, Baltinache CLP $12,000. Cejar, Rainbow Valley and Puritama: amount on the product page when you book.
- Lodging in San Pedro de Atacama: no plan includes it. Private rooms and dorm beds in our where-to-stay guide.
- Lunches and dinners not listed under the tour's 'included' (on the Full 3, those of days 1 and 3).
- Tips, toilets in Machuca (CLP $500 cash) and whatever you buy in the villages.
- Flight to Calama and the transfer to town (CLP $34,000 round trip, booked separately).
If your days stretch to Uyuni
With five or six days there's another way to spend them: two days of tours in San Pedro and four crossing the Bolivian altiplano to the Uyuni Salt Flat, in a single programme. Those are the Altiplánico 5D/4N (CLP $345,000) and 6D/5N (CLP $395,000), and they don't compete with the plans in this guide because they include the three nights in Bolivia and all meals on that leg. We compare them day by day, with what's paid in cash and the passport you need, in <a href="https://toursatacama.cl/guias/salar-de-uyuni-desde-san-pedro-4-5-o-6-dias">Uyuni Salt Flat from San Pedro: 4, 5 or 6 days</a> (in Spanish).
How a plan is booked
Choose the plan, the start date and the number of people, and pay online on this site; the checkout charges in Chilean pesos and your card issuer converts at its own rate. Your booking code arrives by WhatsApp and, one or two days before you start, so does the final order of the tours with the pickup time and point for each. If your accommodation is outside the central radius, we set a meeting point. If you'd rather build the trip tour by tour, with two Tatio and two Piedras Rojas departures at different prices, the twelve individual tours are compared in <a href="https://toursatacama.cl/guias/san-pedro-de-atacama-tours-prices-2026">the 12 most booked tours with prices</a>.
The essentials: three days for the basics, five for everything, and the plan is chosen by pace. Book, keep the code and, if a date lands on a Tuesday or a full moon, message us in the same chat before paying.
Frequently asked questions
How many days do you need in San Pedro de Atacama?
Three to see Moon Valley, Piedras Rojas and Tatio without rushing; five to add Puritama, Cejar and the Salt Flats Route. With one day you can do the two classics (Flash, CLP $60,000) only if you slept a night in town first. To add the Uyuni Salt Flat you need five or six days with the Altiplánico programmes.
How much does a 3-day plan in San Pedro de Atacama cost?
We have two: the Ideal 3 days at CLP $115,000 per person (Moon Valley, Piedras Rojas and lagoons, Tatio) and the Full 3 days at CLP $199,000 (six tours: Devil's Throat by bike, Vallecito, Piedras Rojas, stargazing, Tatio and Puritama). Neither includes park fees or a hotel.
What's the difference between the Ideal 3 and the Full 3 if they're the same number of days?
The number of outings and the pace. The Ideal 3 is one tour a day with free mornings or afternoons. The Full 3 fits six tours into three days, with two activities on two of the days, one pre-dawn start and one night of telescopes. It costs CLP $84,000 more, and bought separately those extras are worth more than that.
Do the plans include park entrance fees?
No, none of the six. Tatio is CLP $15,000, Moon Valley CLP $10,800 (bought online the day before), Piedras Rojas CLP $22,000 for Chileans or CLP $29,000 for foreigners. Cejar, Rainbow Valley and Puritama have separate fees confirmed on the product page. Budget from CLP $25,800 per person on the Flash and quite a bit more on the plans with Puritama, Cejar or the Salt Flats Route.
Do the plans include accommodation?
No. All six are tours, transfers, guide and the meals listed on each outing only. The bed is booked separately: we have private rooms and dorm beds in three hostels in town, from CLP $18,000 a night, in our how-to-get-there-and-where-to-stay guide.
Can I choose the order of the tours within the plan?
We confirm the order when you book, based on that day's operation and conditions (moon, Tuesday closures, weather at altitude). You can send preferences on WhatsApp with your booking code and we fit them in when possible; what we won't do is put Tatio on your first morning without acclimatisation.
Which plan works if I arrive on a Tuesday?
Any of them, but there's no Cejar on Tuesdays (the lagoon closes) and the Machuca stop on the Tatio tour is skipped. On the Ideal 4 and Ideal 5, which include Cejar, that tour moves to another day of the plan. Moon Valley, Piedras Rojas, Rainbow Valley, Puritama and the stargazing tour run as normal on Tuesdays.
How do I pay and how do I get the confirmation?
Online on this site, charged in Chilean pesos, one payment per person for the whole plan. Confirmation with the booking code arrives by WhatsApp, and one or two days before you start you receive the order of the tours with pickup time and point. Date changes are requested in the same chat.
